Up, Up, and Away!

This was taken with my "backup" camera, the Pentax Optio W10. Great to have a waterproof point and shoot while backpacking and canoeing. This, however, was taken in Myrtle Beach -- Broadway at the Beach's Pavillion, to be exact. 2-second self-timer used; held it on a post. My granddaughter is up there somewhere. ISO-200 (auto), night mode, flash off, 6mm, 1/5 sec at F/3.3.

Did use this to take a number of images in the surf -- video as well.

Moon over St. James

Here's another entry in the "church" competition. Again, taken with my D200 but using my Nikon 70-200 AF-VR f/2.8 lens @ 70mm, 1/125 sec at f/9.1. The sky wasn't helping so I "photoshopped" in the moon. There are some editing artifacts in the branches above, but I still generally like it. Took 3rd in "projected."

St James Church, Boardman

Darin and I had been to the camera shop in Boardman to pick up his lens. The upcoming camera club competition theme was "Churches -- inside or out." This St. James church was on our way home in a park near the camera shop. I took this shot with my D200, 20mm AF f/2.8 lens, 1/250 sec. at f/8.

The sky was boring, so in Photoshop Elements 4, I selected the sky, used levels to darken it and add interest. I then used the "spotlight" filter/effect to simulate moonlight as I called it. Got a first in "Projected Images."
