Snapshots with the new 35mm AF-S f/1.8 Nikkor

Here's a shot at school, Nikon D300, aperture-priority at f/1.8 to see bokeh, auto-ISO. Shutter speed was 1/1600. Nice soft background.

Here's a snap of my house using my D300 (vivid +3, Program, Auto ISO) using my new Nikkor DX 35mm AF-S 1:1.8 G lens. 1/60 sec @ f/2.8.
Perhaps a bit too saturated on the pumpkins, but that's not the lens' fault.

Nikon 35mm AF-S F/1.8 DX lens

Hey! I bought one from B&H and it arrived yesterday. Image is from dpreview.com, a good introduction to the lens' announcement.
At a glance I can see that I'm going to like its small size, fast focus, and bright view on my D300.

The lens is touted as the DX normal lens (35mm x 1.5 = 52.5), but it looks a little wider than what my eye sees when comparing the view to my 100% D300. Am I wrong here?

I'll take a few serious images and post them here in the blog.

McConnells Mill in the Fog

This shot has fond memories. My Dad and I got up early one morning and took some shots of the mill in the fog. This is a scanned slide, probably taken with my Nikon N80. Don't remember the slide film, although I liked Velvia.
