HF mobile transceiver

Brothers,

Long distance VOICE communication can be accomplished via HF (high frequency).  Talk to my EE prof who is also ham operator. Mobile systems connect to car for power may be solution for communication long distances. Morse code is no longer needed although licensing is.

I need to learn more, but this is a start. We could protect systems from EMP. Mobile on car. Antennae used when ne cessary.

Dan’l, see if your survival blogs talk about this. I will look for introductory tutorials/documents. I’ll also ask Al, my friend, to help me configure and price a system.

January Road Trip

In January, we’ll be taking a road trip. I will endeavor to journal the trip on this site. I’ll be taking my cameras, smartphone, and guns, of course. I have concealed carry license for the whole trip except Illinois.

These “Eyes” Took Third

ncc-JennF2817-Window-to-the-Soul

New Castle Camera Club was the place. Projected Competition was the event on March 10, 2011. The competition theme was “Eyes” and this image of mine took 3rd. Good deal!

Phil was wrong!

Where's global warming when we need it!

My Coffee Cups

Two cups, both from now extinct Shenango China, New Castle, PA. The plain one is dated 1935.

They are classic heavy "diner" mugs, small capacity, but solid. They're all I use at home for coffee.

Slugged Mosin Again

This time I got .312+, a hair over last time.

Wednesday, March 2, 2011

Slugged my Mosin!

Check my caliper! .312!!!

So, it seems to me that it won't shoot .308 as accurately as .311 when reloading.

MidwayUSA has .310 diameter bullets (7.62x39) & .311 diameter (303 caliber) bullet for me to try.

My Lee reloading manual specifies .310 but says to "Check groove diameter for proper bullet fit" --- slugging.

I have the "tools" if anyone wants to slug their MN. Only took 5 minutes.

That's my Reloading Report for now!

Warm reception

Air is cool but people warm. No heat in home. Glad for warm sleeping bag. Hot water?

This country is amazing. PEOPLE! Everywhere. Poverty. Friendly. Train ride was amazing too. 6 hours of seeing people.

Jet lag. 5am here at Children's home. Children are precious---love to pose for pictures.

Good native dinner last night prepared by staff.

Worship this morning & jet lag recovery day.

Please pray for Bible School Monday. Praise for cell coverage.

Pray for Laura -- fell in hotel shower, cut eye at eyebrow. We gave first aid of course. Concern is scar.

Reluctant to mention actual location.
